Heh heh, this will be most fun. Twisted Evil

Name: Tomat Fontar
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Code Name: SniperInYourMidst
Side: OCIA
Weapons: .50cal M95 Barrett (Nicknamed "Unseen"), .50 Action Express IMI Desert Eagle (Nicknamed "Pounder"), Diamond Edged Throwing Knives, Fleet 4
Bio: Tomat Fontar grew up in the small town of Barborinse in the OCIA. He was an avid hunter and found that he had skill in firearms but found that he fancied sea faring battles as well. He is tall and broad with a powerful frame. Very muscular, Tomat needs little exercise to stay fit and always has a crew cut. Tomat's soft green eyes and chestnut hair lend him a little more gentle look, but watch out for his fists. A very volatile man, Tomat can get into fights easily but yet is the most modest guy you'll ever see.
Looks: A tall 6 foot 4 inches, with chestnut brown hair and soft green eyes.

It came suddenly; a black shadow that moved like a cat. A white glistening flash was the last thing the seaman saw before his throat was slit and he fell dead on the deck. The figure cleaned the blade of his knife on the man's jacket and moved on. After securing the bow, another glistening white flash and three hooks were lopped onto the deck from below. Four more shadows joined the other and together they hijacked the ship. After killing the Captain, the ship was under their control. It sailed on for the rest of the night, as shadows moved through the crew cabins killing those who would not surrender to the OCIA. At dawn, more ships appeared on the horizon: it was the OCIA Main Battle Fleet. The hijacked Eurasian destroyer fired a green flare from it's bow cannon and the three patrol boats coming to meet it also fired green flares. The sign that the new ship was indeed friendly.

"Well done men, we have another ship. I am beginning to like this field of work." "Glad you think so Ensign Fontar. You make a good insertion team leader yourself." A shadow materialized into the form of a small but powerful man along with a taller, more muscular man joining him. Ensign Tomat Fontar and Seaman First Class John Convartik were walking back along the corridors of the newly captured ship along with the rest of the insertion team seeing the work of their hands in real light. "Well, you guys have fun looking at what you did. I have to get back to the Peacemaker." Tomat said. "Ok chief, we'll be back as soon as we're through." Seaman Second Class Rick Interosp spoke up. "Have fun guys." Tomat called over his shoulder as he walked away.

"Oh, and Finn?" "Yes sir?" "I want no loose ends on this mission." "Yes sir." Finn exited the office and strode off down the hallway. I'd better not botch this mission like the last one. That was pure disaster. His thoughts were interrupted as he came to the door marked 'Razor5'. "Finn Collehan." he said, and at the same time a ret scanner checked his retina and a print scanner checked his thumb print. Then the door slid back and he entered. He clipped in his mouthpiece, donned his scuba suit, and dove into the pool of water that was in the center of the room. In a few seconds, he was lost to sight.

A knock sounded on the door. "Danjeen." Tomat walked in and saluted Admiral Beving. "Siloniv san cojrolive Admiral." "We can speak English now, Tomat. I need the practice." "I understand sir. I find Okian a little difficult." "Understandable. Having American parents would have made things difficult to learn our language. You speak well for a Westerner." "Thank you sir. You wanted to see me about something sir?" "Yes, I am curious about how the mission went. You seemed to take no loss whatsoever. Not that I distrust your skill, but this is not common on your missions." "I understand sir. The ship was crewed by fresh seamen. They were greener than unripe bananas." The Admiral laughed and said, "That explains it. That must have been boring for you." "Actually sir, the deck guards were in new positions that made it a bit more difficult to get on the ship which gave the mission enough excitement to keep boredom at bay." "I see. What of Finn Collehan, Razor5. What do you think of him?" "I can't wait for him to qualify for my team. We need a SCUBA man and he shows great skill. He just needs to clean up his act a little." "Then I think you will like what I have to say." "What is that sir?" "If he succeeds on the mission he is on right now, I promised him a chance to enter your team as your personal apprentice." "That...would be fantastic." "I thought you would like that." Beving grinned. "It is up him then." "I will be waiting with baited breath sir." "That is all. Anything else you need to mention?" "No sir. Things seem to be going well according to my First Mate, Trey Wersam, on my ship and with the rest of Fleet 4." "Good. Gergivlika." Tomat saluted and left for his Vilovjah-Class Attack Cruiser Peacemaker To take him back to Fleet 4.

Finn's mission was to sink a B-Class sub. All by himself. He swam forward, his flippers making a dull swish-swish noise behind him. There! In front of him, a dark shape loomed in the dim watery light. He swam silently up to the hatch, attached a lock-picker to the hatch's lock. it oozed gel into the keyhole, and hardened, leaving a key. When the light flashed green he twisted it, and the hatch sprang open. He paddled into the airlock, closing the door behind him. He took off his flippers, and slid his dagger ( Modern RPG Dragon-dagger1)
from it's oiled sheath. Then he opened the inner door. He slipped into the passageway, and immediately had to grapple with a guard. The man was surprisingly strong. He forced Finn against the wall, and pinned him there, choking him with a hand around the throat. Then he slumped backwards as Finn's dagger slid into his heart. Finn crept further down the corridor, until he reached the storeroom A-15. He opened the door, and pushed a explosive pack into the room. A-15 was a fairly central room, meaning that a bomb blowing inside, would assure that the sub was doomed. He quickly exited the subterranean behemoth and swam to a distance of 200 feet. Then he waited. Suddenly the door slid back and a scuba-diver exited, swimming frantically. Seconds later the sub was ripped apart by a tremendous explosion. The shockwave accelerated the enemy diver, and he was quickly lost to sight. Finn swam for all he was worth but still did not see anything. ARGHH!!!! This is just the kind of loose end that I cannot afford to let go! He kicked even faster, and finally a dim shape was to be made out. He slowly gained on the man, who was seemingly oblivious. Finn drew his dagger and slashed the man's oxygen tube in two. It was the best way to make sure that the man would not survive, even if he defeated Finn. The man turned frantically, and kicked at Finn, who dodged easily. Then he plunged his dagger into the man's chest, feeling him go limp. Finn then turned away and swam, leaving the body floating in the water.

A lone SCUBA Diver swam towards the ship. Seamen manning guns and lookout posts watched the diver very carefully and kept weapons trained on the man at all times. Then the diver stopped swimming and took out a small flare gun. He fired the waterproof flare into the sky, the same green as the shipboard flares. The guns swiveled away and everyone relaxed. It was Finn. The diver swam to the stern of the destroyer and climbed onto the deck. He was then assisted out of his suit and escorted to the debriefing room.

When he arrived, Finn was surprised by what he saw. Instead of his supervisor, Ensign Tomat Fontar stood there with a grin on his face. "Well Finn, lets hear about your mission and then I might have a surprise for you."

(Hmmmm, then you might want to read over the last few posts that I have made here because it is kinda obvious What a Face )

After Finn had related the details of his mission, Tomat sat back and thought for a second. Finn began to get a little nervous, fearing he had done something wrong and THAT was the last thing he needed. Then the Ensign spoke. "Finn, first of all, what I am about to say must be spoken of to no one. Not even your family. You will be shot on sight if say ANYTHING about this, understood?" Finn was really nervous now but managed to squeak out a "Yes sir.". "You have shown talent, but your carelessness has hindered your entire career. However, seeing that you did this vital mission and did it well," Finn visibly relaxed, "you have been selected to join my team if you like." Tomat held a hand up before Finn could say anything. "Before you say anything, I really want you to think this through after I have given you the details. First of all, you won't be recognized for being in this unit for years, if you are even alive when they declassify this unit. Secondly, we do the really dirty work. Capturing an entire ship with a full compliment of crew is not just like walking aboard and declaring the ship property of the OCIA. It means killing most of the crew, hoping no one tries to communicate with the ship before we get to the fleet, and also hoping we never see a Eurasian flag on any ships that go by because that will spark a confrontation."

"Now, if you choose not to be part of the unit, you will be let off without any prejudice and nothing will be spoken of about it. However, if you want to change your mind later, you must speak to me. Everyone else who knows about it is on orders not to talk about it or claim any reference to it. This unit is secret and that makes things difficult sometimes. Other than that, we in the unit are like brothers and each would die for the other in a heartbeat." Finn, a little overwhelmed with information, had a kind of stupefied look but didn't know it. Tomat laughed in his deep booming voice and said, "Hope I didn't fry that brain of your, Finn." Finn jerked upright, then laughed with Tomat saying, "No sir, you didn't. I really think I do want to think about this, but I'm pretty sure its a yes." "Not a problem. Just come talk to me when you are ready. If that is all, dismissed." Finn stood and saluted with crisp precision, then turned on his heel and walked out the door.

Tomat still sat in his chair, pondering his next mission when a shudder when down the ship. An alarm klaxon went off that signaled a grounding. "Blast! Someone in the SoNAR room (Yes, that is the way you write that) is gonna answer to Admiral Beving for missing that sand bar." Then a powerful jerk rocked the whole ship and sent Tomat sprawling out of his chair. "What on earth?!" Tomat grabbed his comm device. "Trey, what in the world is going on?!" "Sir, its a sand bar, but it didn't appear on SoNAR. To make matters worse, our screws are caught in something and the torque blew a drive shaft on the port screw." "Blast! Alright, send a diver to assess the damage done to the bow and stern." "Yes sir." "'ll be right up to oversee things." "Roger that sir." Tomat clipped the comm unit back on his belt and raced down the hallway.

Finn was the lucky diver chosen to access the damage done. He dove down to the hull, and swam slowly around it. From what part of the hull he could see, the damage was bad. The titanium was crumpled up on itself. With shock he realized that this was no sandbar; rather it was a large metal column. *crrr* Base this is Razor5 what we have here is a metal column not a sandbar. I'm checking this out. *crrr* *crrr* We copy Razor5. I repeat we copy. *crrr*. He kicked downward and finally reached the base of the pillar. To his amazement he saw other vast pillars reaching to the surface. *crrr* Base this is Razor5. I believe we have found Atlanta. *crrr*.

Post  SniperInYourMidst Mon Jun 21, 2010 3:51 pm

"Wait a minute, what did he say?" Tomat was now standing in the bridge on the ONS Peacemaker, a Vilovjah-Class Attack Cruiser which served as Tomat's flagship of Fleet 4. "Razor5, please repeat." The radio operator said into the mike. "It looks like Atlantis." "Atlantis?! Impossible." Tomat leaned over and keyed the mike again, "Razor5, can you give us a visual feed or get a photo using your gear?" "Affirmative, Base. Transmitting vis feed on frequency four-two-four." The radio operator then took over again and said, "Copy Razor5, we are receiving." A visual feed from a camera built in to Finn's goggles showed the pillars that went thousands of feet down. As Finn slowly looked around, things like ruins, skeletons, and broken pottery were everywhere. Tomat speculated that there was more beneath the bottom of the light penetration. Tomat signaled the radio operator and he in turn spoke into the mike, "Razor5, discontinue vis feed and return to the ship." "Copy, Base. Moving out." Tomat decided to call a meeting of his officers with Finn as an information source for the meeting. Turning to his trusty First Mate, Tomat said, "Trey, call a meeting of all officers in the fleet and have them use vid links for the meeting. As for my officers, have them come to Room 255. Also, have Finn come down there as well. You will be in charge while I am in the meeting." "Yes sir." Tomat walked off the bridge.

(No there is not a rule Sniper. Just had to clarify. Sorry Sniper but your meeting will have to be postponed.Twisted Evil)

A dark shadow glided over Atlantis. Soliss walked around on the ESA 1901. It had been a long day. Now? he was on look out for hostiles. Earlier that same day he was transferred onto this fast beauty. He was told that they were going to the place that HQ had lost contact with another ship. Now it was his job to make sure they did not become another ship like that one.

Tomat was just about to speak when a man came bursting in. He snapped to attention. "Sir! you are wanted on the bridge!" Tomat saluted and nodded. He addressed the officers. "I am sorry but this might take a while. Meeting postponed until I return." Tomat followed the man to the bridge. When they got there. The first mate saluted then pointed to a screen. "Take a look." Tomat looked at it and saw Soliss' ship. "Well call in the shadows." "Already done sir." Tomat looked at his first mate with admiration. "I will personally take this mission. You are still in command." The first mate beamed.

Less than ten min. later the shadows were aboard. They instantly split up. Tomat was a lone wolf because he was the best. For Finn's benefit if he decided to join, Seaman First Class John Convartik wore a small camera that would record everything done on the mission so that Finn could see what they do before he did the minimal training required. Tomat crept up to a seaman just like he had done thousands of times before. The knife flashed through the air.

Soliss saw the flash of the knife and only had a split second to react. Before Tomat knew what was happening Soliss had pinned him on the ground. Tomat's arm was on his back in the most painful way, a gun was pressed to his head, and the knife was 3 feet away. Tomat looked up into the face of his captor and gasped. "Soliss?" He whispered. Suddenly he was terrified. Soliss had been one of the most ruthless men in the shadows. He was a highly decorated officer that used to be a scuba diver. In fact he had saved Finn may times.

Note: This post was modified by SniperInYourMidst for God Modding. AgentE383, I can live with you and HawkBlade postponing the briefing I wanted to do, that is fine. However, I do know that what you just did with Finn is God Modding. Think about it Agent, would you send a potential recruit on a classified mission that he could tell the enemy all about if he decided not to join? Also, you added Finn without either HawkBlade's nor my permission. I changed it so that Finn is not in the group but instead gets to watch what happens to get a feel of the unit after he joins. I hate to say this AgentE383, but strike one for you.

Post  SniperInYourMidst Fri Jun 25, 2010 6:11 pm

This is not good. Of all ships, why Soliss'? Tomat's mind raced furiously. Soliss had him pinned to the deck with his right arm in a very breakable position. Knowing full well that a broken right arm would render him almost defenseless, Tomat decided to try a different strategy. Lashing out with a kick, Tomat swiveled with the leg to untwist his arm while knocking Soliss over. However, Soliss was not about to be defeated so easily and was back up in a flash. Tomat, not bothering with his knives, got into a fighting stance and taunted, "So, I meet the famed Soliss at last. Lets see if you are as quick as they say." Soliss got into a variant of Tomat's stance and returned evenly, "Sure, as if being surprised was not enough proof for you." "Ouch, you shoot well. But maybe I'm better." "We will see." Soliss faked a duck to the right, then broke left. Tomat, not in the least fooled went right for him and smashed his shoulder into Soliss' jaw. Unfazed, even with a smarting jaw, Soliss threw a punch that connected with Tomat's gut. Tomat bent over and as Soliss was about to continue the attack, Tomat dived forward and nailed Soliss with his head. The two tumbled to the ground and wrestled for ten minutes. When Tomat finally pinned Soliss down, he thought he had won. Guess again. Soliss fliped out as if he was coated in oil and kicked at Tomat, who ducked and sent a kick of his own.

Tomat and Soliss continued the battle as the ship was systematically purged of all loyalty to Eurasia by Tomat's men. Convartik and Seaman Second Class Milaniv Valminsk were inside the bow cargo hold, seeing what booty there was. Not much stuff, then again, not a big ship either. The sleek, narrow lines of the speedy little craft made cargo carrying difficult to say the least. However, useful things like grenades, small explosives, a small weapons cache, and even mines were all there for the taking. "Well Milaniv, I think we hit the jackpot. This will keep quartermasters fleet-wide coming to us for days!" "Heh, heh. It is indeed a exciting prospect. Do you guys really haggle them for parts that much?" "We have to. Otherwise they get the stuff for free." Valminsk thought for a second, not getting it. Then it clicked. Stifling a laugh, Milaniv responded, "Ah, never make it easy for those guys do you?" Grinning, John said, "Not for a minute." "Well, you are the leader, but I say we keep going. We won't need to haul this stuff if everything goes well." "Yup, I agree. Lets go." The two walked out of the hold and almost ran into a Eurasian seaman with a gun. John kicked him down and the gun went sprawling. As the unfortunate sailor scrambled for the weapon, Milaniv silenced him with his knife. "That was a close one." "You said it Milaniv. Lets see what needs done." They continued into the hallway.

Finn had some leave time, so he decided to check out Atlantis further. All was silent. He touched bottom gently and attached small stones to his boots, allowing him to walk. All was silent. Once, he thought he saw a small flicker of movement, but it turned out only to be a fish. Then he noticed an un-shattered pottery bowl, with something blue in it. He trudged over and found that the blue thing was an enormous sapphire, the size of a duck egg! He grabbed it, removed the stones from his boots and turned to the surface, mind racing. The gem was priceless!

Finn pulled himself up the ladder dangling from the side of the ship, the gem clutched between his teeth. He accosted the nearest man. "I want to speak with Commander Fontar. It's urgent." "Commander Fontar is away." Finn hurried to his own cabin on the cruiser, and wrapped the gem up in a towel. It was probably best that no one saw it before Tomat did.

Post  SniperInYourMidst Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:47 pm

(Thanks for fixing your post, HawkBlade. It makes things that much easier. What a Face )

30 minutes of hard, desperate fighting had worn both Tomat and Soliss down. The two had found that they were evenly matched but kept trying to make the other slip. The deck now sported a spot of blood here and there, along with dents, broken pieces of deck railing, and smashed in portholes. The battle had been ferocious to say the least, yet the two continued to watch each other like hawks. Resting on opposite sides of the ship, the two combatants were bone tired and hurting badly but trying not to show it. "You, *pant*, you fight well. *more panting*, the OCIA could use someone *pant* like you." "Ha! *wheeze* I could say the same to you." Not to be outdone by an enemy, Tomat retorted, "That might not work. You see, Eurasia is known for its sissies and-" Soliss lunged at his insulter, but dodged just in time. Tomat had drawn two of his knives and held one in each outstretched hand. If Soliss had kept on with his charge, he would have been impaled. Tomat threw one at Soliss' head and he ducked with ease. The knife slid into the wood deck with a small *thock*. Slicing with the other in his left hand, Tomat leaped forward and anticipated Soliss' move to the right. Lashing out with a kick, it connected with his opponent's head and snapped it back. Soliss tumbled a few feet on the deck, then gave Tomat a broken nose using his fist. Streaming blood, Tomat threw the second knife, which embedded itself into Soliss' shoulder. Howling in pain, they wrestled again. Using his weight as an advantage, Tomat finally managed to get on top. This time, Soliss had no more energy left, and although he didn't show it, Tomat had none left either. "Go ahead, Tomat. *pant pant wheeze* Kill me. *pant* We'll win this war, *pant* one way or another. *pant pant*" "No, *wheeze pant* I won't kill you. *pant* Let it never be said, *pant* that the OCIA was not *wheeze* fair." Tomat said as he sheathed his knife. "How do you know, *pant* that I will not kill you when you get up?" "One, you are an honest soldier. Two, if you are as I am, you don't have the energy to so much as punch me."

Getting up, Soliss walked unsteadily to the railing, "Good point. Well, what are you going to do with me?" Tomat had also gone to the rail and they stood there as the ship silently moved through the water. "Once my crew has the ship under control, we will join up with my fleet and convert this ship to whatever it needs to be to best serve the OCIA." "What? This is my personal vessel! Its not even armed except for some boarding party repulsion equipment." "Actually, not my decision. I personally would like to keep it the way it is so that I can remember defeating Eurasia's best fighter every time I see it." "Well, at least you want to keep it the way it is." "As for you, I imagine they'll take you as a Prisoner of War and keep you at Gervobik High Security Prison." "Oh no, that there." "Again, not my decision. I would put you to work on my ship, as that would be easier to keep an eye on you. But no, the top brass never listens to me except the admiral of this sector." "Huh, that's not at all the case in Eurasia. I'm a smash hit." "Lucky you, but now you will be amazed at how fast your 'fans' will leave you now that you have been captured. I should know, I was a pretty famous guy who could do fancy stuff with knives. Then I missed once and seriously wounded a important dignitary. Once I got out of jail for that, I suddenly had no popularity whatsoever. Everyone had turned to this or that. So I joined the navy." "Wow, do you think that will happen to me?" They continued to talk as the ship sailed on.

A seaman ran up to Tomat Fontar. He saluted. Tomat saluted and both of them dropped their hands. "Sir another ship wants to know weather we are on course. What do we tell them?" Tomat thought for a moment. "Tell them that we are on course. We don't want to make them suspicious." "Yes sir." The seaman walked away. Tomat turned back to Soliss. A panicked seaman ran up only a moment later. "Sir! A Morse code message has been intercepted. It reads: Ship has been taken over by OCIA! Ship has been taken over by OCIA!" "Sound the alarm! I want that transmitter found!" "Sir!" the man ran off. Only seconds later a ship with a sleek black hull sporting six deadly 15in guns. It was flying the Erusia flag. A loudspeaker shouted from the Erusia ship. "Surrender! Or we will blow that ship out of the water!" Tomat flinched. He then got an idea. He took Soliss up to the rail on the side facing the enemy ship. Tomat slid a knife under Soliss' chin. "Not so fast! We have prisoners here. I'd like to see you blow your own seamen out of the water!" Tomat shouted across. A man gave him a megaphone so he would not have to shout anymore. "Don't worry about us!" Soliss shouted. To emphasize his point he grabbed Tomat's ram holding the knife. He also slammed back with his elbow making Tomat loose his grip on Soliss(then Soliss tried to do this to him Modern RPG 78922 ) and several areas of fighting broke out on deck. The Battle ship moved closer and hooks were thrown across. Men from the Battleship poured on the destroyer. The Shadows were overwhelmed. The only real fight left was between Tomat and Soliss, again. The Shadows seeing that this would end in disaster if they continued preceded to jump off the boat. One by one they left the ship.

Tomat gave a right hook to Soliss' jaw while Soliss kicked Tomat back a second later. Tomat was about to overpower Soliss when Soliss slammed his fist into Tomat's jaw with all the force he could muster. Let me tell you something. It was a wallop! Tomat went backwards and fell over the railing. Tomat ducked under the water as long as he could. Soliss was still looking over the rail at where Tomat fell. Soliss could not believe he had knocked Tomat dead. Soliss was suddenly worried about his old commander... and friend. Soliss could not believe it. He suddenly got the feeling that he would be the world's happiest man it he ever saw Tomat again. Of course he would then try to kill Tomat. Maybe he shouldn't have defected after all...

Tomat was the last of the Shadows that got on board the the ship. They had lost four shadows. Not bad for a takeover of a ship then being boarded. Still they had lost. Tomat could not except that. Tomat ordered the part of the tape showing they had lost destroyed. They now had lost only two times Tomat planned to keep it that way.

Tomat and what was left of the Shadows swam as fast as they could, while still remaining stealthy. Already, search lights were scanning the trackless waters, looking for those who had jumped over board. "Sir, what do we do now?" Milaniv whispered as they swam through the Black Sea. "Mith law ith brokan." Was the reply. "What was that sir?" "My jlaw ith broketh." It was all Tomat could say. Then Milaniv understood. "Oh, you have a broken jaw?" "Yeth.". "Should I have Seaman Convartik take command?" "Yeth." "At once, sir." Milaniv swam ahead to where John was and told him he was to take command. "Well what on earth is wrong with Capt. Fontar?" John said after Milaniv had given him the news. "He has a broken jaw. He didn't say what did it, but I was able to communicate well enough to know that he wants you to take command." "Ok then. Does your radio still work?" "Yes it does. But wouldn't it be a bad idea to use it this close to the Eurasian Fleet?" "No, it would not be a good idea if we were alone." "What are you talking about John?" "Radio the fleet, tell them where we are and to come with weapons hot." "Yes sir." Milaniv stopped swimming long enough to grab the radio still attached to his belt. "Vokinadis jamind su Grosfiners. Erlamin da Grosfiners. (Shadow Group to Fleet. Come in Fleet.)" A voice crackled back, "Ovil nan. Kilopik banihk qilger ge? (We read. What is your position?)" "Holimin dal Backen Wan juvil Eurasian Grosfiner. Ilopigik wix loi wix, sam uver loi. Tivan Grosfiner su divil su hik unt clash dal Eurasians." (Swimming the Black Sea near Eurasian Fleet. Location, 252 dash 45. Requesting the Fleet come to us and crush the Eurasians.)" "Saikil, divil fogik ef ulopo su divol. (Roger, sailing at full speed to attack.)" Milaniv turned off the radio and spoke to his teammates in English, "Guys, the fleet is heading this way. Stop swimming to save energy." The ragtag group came to a halt. Then John took back over. "Now everyone, I want you to activate your transmitters when we starting hearing the fleet. Those of us who are still fit to fight I want to have back fighting as soon as possible. I'm sure that none of us want to see our comrades who died for the OCIA die in vain." Assents came back and John made note of who responded and who didn't. Only Tomat could not say anything, but they all knew he was not dead, so John did not count Tomat as missing. Of the 10 that had boarded Soliss' ship, only four were left. John fought the urge to vomit at the sickening thought.

First Mate Trey was in his element. He always knew he was good at fleet operations, and had faithfully gone through his tours of duty hoping one day to at least command a ship. However, the assignments he was given were part of operations that would only slow down victory if they failed. But when the message from Milaniv came in, Trey knew that he must not fail. The fleet was moving at flank speed as promised, but to Trey it seemed as though they were crawling along. Then the radar contacts started appearing. The radar operator looked up at the First Mate with a startled look on his countenance. "Great Golivins! Sir, supposedly the Eurasians do not have this many ships in their entire navy!" Trey sped to the radar operator's station and looked unbelieving at the radar scope. 30 battleships, at least 50 destroyers, 20 aircraft carriers, 40 cruisers and numerous support craft. It was a massive fleet. Trey collected his wits after almost losing it then calmly said, "Sound Battle Stations and prepare to fight." Turning to the communications stations, Trey continued, "Alert Command that a huge Eurasian fleet is in the area and that we are moving in to engage. Request immediate assistance. Also, pay close attention to the SOB (Sailor Overboard) frequency." Trey then walked back to the command chair and braced himself for the slugging match of the century.

( sorry I forgot to post yesterday Embarassed )

Finn was in his cabin when the ship lurched into motion. The speaker clipped onto the wall blared out, "All hands on-deck! Erusia fleet spotted!" Finn slung Bolt over his back, slid an ammo box into his belt, and made sure he had his dagger. Only then did he race up to deck. "Soldiers! Fall into position!" Finn slid into his place, and stood still. An ominous buzzing sounded over from the horizon. Forty-eight Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber planes, surrounded by an escort of seventeen P-51 Mustang fighter planes appeared on the horizon. Acting-Captain Trey blood ran cold. A force that size could well take down the entire fleet. Unless.... "Man all guns! Soldiers who are not manning guns, look to your firearms!" Much the same order spilled from the mouthes of all the captains in the fleet. The admiral commanded the same soon after. Acting-Captain Trey roared, "Fire!" and flashes of light and sharp cracks punctuated the larger booms of the cannons. First one, then two bombers fell. Then two more. Then another three. All the while the planes were getting closer and closer. Another five fell. Then a P-51 fell. Then another bomber. Four more bombers plunged their noses to the water, sending up clouds of steam. Now the furthest back ships were in range to fire. They immediately shot down six planes, and the frontal ships took out 5 more. Then finally the soldiers on the deck took down one. Then the admiral's ship let out an almighty roar and a flashing rocket sped up to meet a bomber flying somewhat in the center of the squadron. The resulting explosion took down seven planes. Only twelve were left. By this time, they had reached the ships, and bombs began to fall, whistling cheerily. Explosions rocked the high seas as two ships were sunken by bombs. The admirals ship let out another rocket, destroying another six planes. The combined gunfire of the men, and the cannons won the day. The last plane dipped crazily, smashing into a ship, sinking it. Most of the crew were recovered alive from the sunken ships. Then the fighters, which had been hanging back until this point, made their move. They opened fire, strafing the ship decks. They were quickly destroyed. One hundred fifty-three men had been killed, and another two hundred sixteen wounded by the end of that short but fierce battle. Fortunately, no bombs found the fleet's flagship; the only wounded and killed men were from the strafing. Finn let out his breath. There was a lot of shock element in planes.

Note: Edited by HawkBlade for botching the story. It would be great if you could read this post and see if it works, Sniper. If it isn't good, then we can work together on it tomorrow. Double oops for botching it Embarassed Embarassed

"Something is not right here." Trey mused as the fleet sailed towards the retreating Eurasian Fleet. "Not only are they retreating, but they attacked us with antiquated aircraft." As Trey pondered the strange event, the second mate came up to him. "Sir, we have found the Shadows." Trey almost leaped for joy. "Excellent! Bring them in as fast as possible." "Yes sir!" The second mate rushed off to carry out his orders. Yes! Tomat, you never cease to amaze me with your timing. Now you are back and can take command, we can crush the Eurasian Fleet in one swoop and show them that it was a bad mistake to mess with our oil platforms. Trey left the bridge with the second mate in charge to meet Tomat and the Shadows.

When Trey got there, he was stunned. Tomat was being rushed to sick bay and there were six other Shadows missing. Turning to an exhausted looking John Convartnik, Trey asked, "What on earth happened out there?" John sighed, they replied, "Well sir, it was like this: Things went very well at first. We got on board as usual, and were about to go below when Soliss appeared. Th-" "What? Soliss, alive?!" "Uh, well yes sir." "I'm sorry, continue." "When Soliss appeared, we found out that the ship was his. Then he and Tomat started fighting while we went below to finish the job. That went almost without a hitch. Once that was done, we came up to find Soliss defeated. The ship was ours now and we were feeling pretty good. Then the Eurasian Fleet jumped us. I still don't know how they did it. A battleship came up alongside us and boarding parties came aboard and a huge fight began. Four of us were killed in the struggle. When we saw it was hopeless, we abandoned ship and swam away while dodging spotlights. Tomat was shoved off after the rest had gotten away and he met up with us. After that we radioed for help and here we are." Trey looked somber. "I see. Did you happen to see the name of the battleship that got you?" "Uh...yes I did. It was the E.N.S. Cacheblanc." Now Trey looked as though he would faint. "Please, oh please tell me you kidding." "Afraid not sir. Why does that bother you so much?" "I studied with the captain of that ship. His name is Clyde Lopav. He finished at the top of his class and Dilivian Military School while I finished at 10th. He's clever and cunning, like all officers should be, but better. Clyde is extremely dangerous to us and I would bet money he's in charge of that fleet. But enough of that. You and your men hit the sack. We have a battle ahead of us and I want you guys rested up for it." "Thank you sir." "Don't mention it. Dismissed." The Shadows walked wearily off while Trey walked down to sick bay to check on Tomat.

Soliss was standing proudly at the prow of a very powerful battleship. Soliss had gotten his wish from the high command. HE was standing on the battleship USS Exusia. He smiled. This ship was highly experimental, it had 6 15" guns, A special cloaking device, a high powered experimental laser, and a very high powered experimental shield. Did I mention the gunner's station? No? Well the gunners station was in the center of the battleship. It was the most heavily armored part of the ship. The gunners could see in every direction through holograms. When they fired they fired with computer precision. If the tech failed then they could always just go to the manual controls like a normal battleship. This ship also had the latest armor and defense systems, and a bowling ally... but we are not talking about that right now. This was the greatest fighting machine that sailed on the water. Soliss had a smug look on his face, as he was the captain of this vessel. The Admiral of this fleet had the same type of ship. Minus the laser.

Trey looked over the ocean at the retreating erusian fleet and smiled, until his eye caught something he did not want to see. He ordered a seaman to give him a pair of binoculars. HE made eye contact with two of the worst people he could have seen. Soliss and Admiral Clyde Lopav. Soliss' smirk did not have a good effect on Trey. It was as if he knew something that they dd not. He shuddered and but down the binoculars. and turned back to visit Tomat. What will this battle be like? What does Soliss know? How will we win? And... These thoughts and others ran through Trey's mind as he made his way to Tomat. (BTW: the shield, laser, and gunner station and experimental so that is not God modding. They could break down at any time.)

(That works HawkBlade. Thanks for fixing it What a Face )

Tomat only knew pain. And Trey. As his body throbbed with pain despite the pain meds, the faces of the Shadows that he watched fall dead floated around him. Although Trey was sitting there next to him, telling him all about what had happened thus far with their encounters with the Eurasians, Tomat was having a hard time listening over the pain. The faces kept floating, angrily yelling at him that he failed. Jesus! Save me from this evil!!" Tomat suddenly cried out in his head. Tomat had had1 enough. Instantly, the faces vanished and a indescribable peace flowed through him. "Uh, Tomat? You ok? You kind of grimaced there for a minute." It was then that Tomat realized that Trey was still there, talking to him. Using the keyboard sitting on his lap to type out what he wanted to say on a screen, his only method of communication while his shattered jaw was in plaster, Tomat "said" "Oh, some demons were tormenting me about the fiasco on Soliss' ship. They were saying I failed. Jesus took care of them for me.". "Oh, ok. Good to hear that. Well, if you got everything, I think I will return to the bridge and see how things are going." "Ok, it was nice talking with you. You know, you really are a great officer. I am very proud to have you as my First Mate. I will put all that you have done in my report to High Command and recommend you for the Ilokia Brave.". Trey was stunned. The Ilokia Brave was the second highest award for bravery and competence under extreme duress. "Thank you very much sir. I was just doing my duty." "Yes, but you did it and then some. I am sure to lose a ship captian in the coming battle with the Eurasians. If I do get an opening, are you interested in taking his place?". "Why, yes of course sir." "I thought so. Well, you better get back to the bridge." "Yes sir." Trey saluted, then turned on his heel and walked back to the bridge proudly.

1 This phrase is actually ok. I have seen this used by a number of professional authors. My writing teacher once told my class that once you get all the rules down, you can break them on purpose to be different. What a Face

Finn was walking towards his cabin when he slipped and almost fell. It was then that he noticed he was leaving a red trail behind him. He looked down and saw that his pants were wet with blood. A stray bullet from the strafing had entered his leg near the thigh. In the rush of adrenaline at seeing the fighters, he hadn't noticed it. A momentary flare of panic coursed through him. I may never dive again! Then reason kicked in through the cloud of pain. He had been able to walk this far, so obviously the bullet hadn't severed any tendons or muscle. Feeling greatly relieved, he wended* his way to the sick bay. There were other, much more serious cases to deal with, so Finn waited for about 15 minutes before his leg got seen to. "You got the better of the two P's," the docter had said, "Pain rather than Paralysis. It will heal in about one month. Try to not lift anything heavy during that time."

"Roberson, report on the Eurasian fleet!" Trey bellowed. Second Mate Roberson turned in his seat and reported crisply, "Sir, the Eurasian fleet is slowing down and starting a turn to starboard. Standard Eurasian doctrine is to do this so that they can do one last sweep of the enemy before deciding a strategy for attack." "Very well. When will the fleet be in position to attack?" "At this rate, two hours, thirty minutes." "And time until the backup fleet arrives?" "Two days, sir." The response was a subdued tone. It darkened Trey's heart as well. Great, the Eurasians are getting ready to attack and Admiral Grekovin is still two days out going at Flank Speed! At least, that is what he is supposed to be doing. Trey nodded, then said, "Understood, that is all." Robertson turned back to his console with a sigh. "Well, I must see to the Shadows. Robertson, you are in command. I want a full report on the enemy when I return." "Yes sir!" Trey walked off to find the Shadows and visit Tomat.
