Re: Books/movie thread!
oy its hard to explain. Will is an orphan, his parents unknown. The day comes when all the orphans in Redmont Fief, part of the kingdom of Araluen, get chosen by the craftmasters of the fief to be their apprentices. If none of the masters take them, they are sent to work in the fields. Will wants to get into Battleshcool, but he is afraid of being rejected, because he is small. So the day comes, and all the craftmasters reject him. All the other 'wards', as the orphans were called, and he was becoming desperate. Then the most feared man on the fief steps forward and hands Baron Arald a letter. The Baron looks at it, and dismisses Will, saying that he will decide his fate on the morrow. Will climbs the outside of a tower to get to that letter.

Re: Books/movie thread!
ill say!
ok so he climbs the tower. As he reaches for the letter, a hand shoots out and grabs his. It's Halt, the ranger. IT turns out that Halt wants Will as his apprentice and has had an almost invisible eye on him since he was delivered to the ward. Will accepts the position, and trains really hard.
im not telling any more than that because it would spoil the stories. Get them from the library!

RE: Books/Movies Thread
Well, its about a space cruiser callled Daystar and its captain, Mark Edge, recruits these teenagers who are brilliant but were kicked out for "Rebellious Behavior" also known as being Christians. Well, except for Heck, he really was rebellious, but you have to read the books to know why. They and the other crew that Edge has go on these adventures and learn some lesson from God while they are at it.

that sounds like one of the few wholesome books out there

RE: Books/Movies Thread
The only annoying part is the ending is not done well in my opinion. The last book has them on one more adventure, with Daystar blowing up after crash landing. Then the adventure continues until the end of the book. However, everyone just gets split up and sent somewhere else and that is it. They have their whole careers ahead of them and you don't get to see any of it. All in all though, a good series.
