RE: Field-ty
HawkBlade, I'm working on getting a Perl redistributable to package with Field-ty. Once I can get a redist for Perl, we can bundle it into one installer which will allow anyone to run Field-ty!
Re: Field-ty Comments/Annoucements
YES!!!!!! (you mean without installing perl?)

RE: Field-ty
If that were possible, I don't know how to and what we would need. What I am talking about is a program to install Perl, then extract Field-ty to the desktop or something. It would be really nice if a user could just click on the script and it would launch itself. My QBASIC programs do that.

wooo! v3.1 of Field-ty is released!!!! all you have to do to play it is open the txt file, click "save as" and save it as Field-ty-v3.1.pl". Then follow previous instructions (open command prompt, cd to the pl file location, and type "perl Field-ty-v3.1.pl".
Note: you can only play this game if you have perl installed on your computer.

And while you're at it, would you mind sending 3.1 to me too? 'Cause, heh heh, you forgot to tell us how to get it.
Re: Field-ty Comments/Annoucements

RE: Field-ty
Yeah, I found it a bit confusing too at first. Apparently what you have to do is browse for the file, add a comment if you want, then hit "Submit Query". The page will reload and there it will be with the option to remove. You have to do that for every file.

RE: Field-ty
Bwahahahahahahaha! It would be so cheap yet funny to make a cheat that lets you nuke the village instead of attack it. It would only work if you are in a position to attack. Type "nuke" or something and it would something like "You razed the village with a nuke and destroyed 500 of everything including approximately 20 possible recruits. Not a wise choice to nuke something now is it?" lol, that would be funny.

RE: Field-ty
I'm gonna be poking around for NSIS, if that is what it is called, and see if I can't get it to work. I'll tell you guys here if I get it working.
Re: Field-ty Comments/Annoucements

RE: Field-ty
NSIS is the abbreviation for Nullsoft Scriptable Install System. It is a customizable installer maker that allows you to make installers just like companies make. You can make it add shortcuts, display splash screens, things like that, and then there is a scripting system to make it do other stuff too. I can even create my own scripts with syntax support using an addon for Eclipse which is a Java programming environment.

RE: Field-ty
Oh yeah! Once I get a hang of the scripting language, I can make some very professional looking and acting installers.

RE: Field-ty
Good news! AgentE382 and I both have our hands on NSIS and will be figuring out how to make it work. Our first installer will be one that will install a mod I made for Battlefield 2. Once we get that to work, I am going to try making an installer for Field-ty! I am hoping to have it download the latest redistributable of Perl, then put Field-ty in My Documents or something. The trick though is getting your script to run by itself. That is, to make it executable. I think I will poke around and see what I can find. If I can get you the command, then the next releases (or totally new games we write) can be easily clicked on to run.
